Fast Rabbit Farm GardenFast Rabbit Garden is filled with a mixture of exotic and native plants but is very much a ‘wild’ garden—the owners having intentionally encouraged the spread of wildflowers. It is the antitheses of a fussy well manicured garden and it’s probably for this reason that it’s so beloved by wildlife. It’s hard to get far down any of the walkways without a rabbit rocketing out of the undergrowth. This real ‘secret garden’ is a nature-lovers paradise. In fact the garden takes its name from the abundance of a particular creature. When the owners Alan and Stevie Mort first moved to the farm they brought with them an aging Collie, an enthusiastic rabbiter, it was confused by the cry, ‘look there’s a hare!’ Once this was revised to ‘Fast Rabbit’ the dog was no longer puzzled and no longer in the vicinity either! Thus the farm and gardens were renamed; although reportedly the Collie never did manage to catch any fast rabbits. Located in a sheltered valley, the tranquil Fast Rabbit is completely isolated from the rigors of the modern world; a garden waiting to be discovered, this is a place to soothe the soul.
