Westonbirt, The National Arboretum

With over 600 acres to explore, this tree garden should keep you busy! Despite being world famous for its autumn colour, Westonbirt is ever changing, and a rewarding place to visit at any time of the year. Spring sees a myriad of colourful shrubs in full bloom, their extravagant exoticism complemented by the more subtle delight of wild flowers. Summer is a gentler time at the arboretum, greener, lusher, the long grass providing a meadowy feel to more open areas.

The video clips hint at the variety and colour you will find at Westonbirt, but there is much, much more to the arboretum - as the full film shows. With over 18,500 trees of 3700 types, including many rare and unusual specimens, the diversity of colour, bark and foliage is fascinating. And even if trees don’t do it for you, there can be few places as pleasant to get some exercise, walk the dog, or even see a concert. Host to a wide range of events throughout the year, there is something at Westonbirt for everyone.
